LIMITED ACCESS TO CLUB HOUSE: Members and guests only.

MUSIC AND ANNOUCEMENTS: All music and announcements will finish by 8pm.

EMERGENCY SERVICES: Emergency services have requested that all roads are kept clear to ensure access at all times for all roads leading to the event. Please DO NOT PARK ILLEGALLY! We would like to keep all residents safe.
In the event of an emergency announcements will be made from the club house. For the duration of the event an emergency exit will also be available through the boat yard beyond the club house.

ROAD CLOSURES: The roads around the Hard will be coned off for the event. Cones will be put out on Friday to warn of the event. Please ensure your car is moved by 8am on Sunday morning at the latest to allow easy access to the area.

ROAD BLOCKS: Between 2pm – 8pm on the 5th November, there will be additional barriers in place, blocking off entrance to the Waterside by the Fish and Chip Shop and also between the Harbour Office and Waterside Deli. The public are asked to respect these barriers and not to park in front of them.

HIGH TIDE: There is a late afternoon tide on Sunday 5th November, so we won’t have time to build the traditional bonfire But, we have a band to keep you entertained.

PARKING: Please walk down to the Hard. Very limited parking is available in car parks on Tower Street, Oyster Tank Road and along Promenade Way.

PUBLIC TOILETS: Please use toilets at The Marina & on Promenade Way.

PESRONAL FIREWORKS BANNED: Please do not bring any fireworks or sparklers to the event. Anyone found lighting anything in the area will be removed from the site. Please note it is also illegal to light flares on bonfire night. Anyone with out-of-date flares should dispose of them in the correct manner.

ANIMALS: Please do not bring pets to this event as a combination of crowd and noise could cause problems. For those worried about noise of the fireworks, the actual display will be between 7 - 7.15 pm.

MARSHALLS: Colne Yacht Club members will be present at key locations around the Hard to ensure your safety. If you are asked by a Marshall, to step back from a barrier, or not to cross one we would be grateful if could oblige.

CHILDREN: Given the large crowds that are expected please ensure your children stay safe and within the barriers. If anyone gets lost announcements will be made from the balcony of the club.

CLEAN UP: If you can’t find a suitable bin, please take your rubbish and dispose of it at home.

    SPONSORS AND SUPPORTERS
Commodore Adrian Gibbons comments: “While the Colne Yacht Club is the main organiser of this event, we are delighted to work with a number of local organisations and businesses who make donations to help pay for some of the fireworks or provide support in other ways. This year we would like to acknowledge support from the following: Essex Cement, Brightlingsea Harbour, French Marine Motors, Park and Ride, DB Marine, Lucas Estate Agents, Advantage Sails, Brightlingsea Rugby Club, Osborn Printers, Seaside Corner, Orsted, Dunmow, Brightlingsea Annual Boat Angling Competition, Pontoon Providers and Dynamic Fireworks all of whom contribute in their own way to make the evening a success.
Sadly these contributions don’t cover all our costs, which is why we ask for a donation. Official bucket collectors will ask you for a contribution. Many thanks.

So wrap up warm and come and join the fun!
