    Pip, a blacksmith’s apprentice and orphan, dreams of becoming a London gentleman. When his wish is granted by a mysterious benefactor, his life becomes one extraordinary encounter after another. He is plunged into a world of dark secrets and cruel twists of fate, where beautiful girls are used as weapons and nothing is more important than knowing who you are and remembering where you came from.

    Featuring some of the most iconic characters in literature, join us on a gripping journey as Pip unravels the truth behind his own great expectations in the gloomy corners of Miss Havisham’s Satis Hall.

    There will be a Post-show Q&A following the 11:00am performance on Wednesday 24th May.

    Our Mercury Adult Company will be doing a a 15 minute performance (a curtain raiser) inspired by the works of Charles Dickens, created in their weekly sessions, prior to the show on Friday 26th May at 6.45pm.

    Accessibility:
    There will be a Captioned performance on Friday 26 May, 7.30pm, an Audio Described performance on Saturday 27th May, 2:30pm (with a Touch Tour at 1pm) and a Relaxed Performance on Thursday 25th May, 11:00am.

    You can book a Schools Workshop – Great Expectations. Through our informative, fun and practical workshops, explore the themes, characters and world of this Dickens classic before you see the show. Workshops complement both the show and the study of any Dickens text such as A Christmas Carol and Oliver Twist.
