Poetry Into Art - FirstSite

Join us for a hands-on creative workshop where poetry meets visual art.

Led by Tina Bullen, a poet and multidisciplinary artist, Poetry into Art invites you to explore how words and images can inspire and enrich one another.

Through guided writing prompts and playful visual exercises, you’ll:
• Read and discuss a selection of poems
• Create something in response to the poems
• Learn to reflect upon the discussion and think about how to respond to a poem of your choice
o You may choose to write your own poem or rearrange an original poem!
• Experiment with simple visual techniques like collage, drawing or illustration from your favourite line or word.

No experience with poetry or art is required—just curiosity and a willingness to explore!

Whether you’re a writer, a visual thinker, or simply looking to spark your creativity, this workshop offers a space to express yourself and discover new ways of seeing and saying.

Basic materials provided. Food and drink is also available for purchase throughout the session from our cafes. This workshop is suitable for ages 16+.
