An Essex Wedding Venue has launched a search for couples who married at the venue in May 1995 to celebrate 30 years since the first wedding was held.
In May, Leez Priory, one of, if not the first, country house in England to be licensed to hold civil ceremonies, will be celebrating 30 years of making wedding dreams come true.
Thirty years ago, in May 1995, the company’s Chairman & Founder, Harry Bramer, was successfully granted a wedding license to hold civil ceremonies at his ancient Tudor Mansion in Essex. Shortly after, Leez Priory, which was already one of the first venues in the country to be dedicated to holding wedding receptions, held its first wedding, becoming an exclusive-use wedding venue. This special day marked the beginning of Country House Weddings.
Now, 30 years later, with six exclusive-use country house wedding venues in the group, and countless happy couples having passed through our doors, Harry, his family and the Country House Weddings team, are throwing a 30th birthday party to celebrate this exciting milestone, and are looking to track down couples who married at Leez Priory in May 1995, to invite them to this grand affair.
The award-winning Leez Priory is set in a delightfully historic Tudor manor house, located in Great Leighs in Chelmsford, and has since been the setting of countless weddings for loved up couples looking for an exclusive-use wedding venue in the Essex countryside. Boasting eight ceremony options, two dining rooms, extensive picturesque grounds, and on-site accommodation, its striking red-brick exterior and grand Tower are a backdrop like no other that has proven popular time and time again.
The upcoming party will see staff from its six venues unite for the day as they gather at Leez Priory to toast the anniversary with a well-deserved glass of fizz. Staff will be joined by selected wedding suppliers who have become staples at weddings across the group over the past 30 years, as they will be invited to attend as a thank-you for their dedication to Leez Priory and helping create wedding memories for Leez’s wonderful couples.
It’s going to be a day of superb food and drink, exciting entertainment, and hopefully, a trip down memory lane for a few lucky couples.
